Every year I post a “Best of” post with a list of the most popular blog posts from lifeinspandex.com. I’m still going to post this list below. However, the best part of 2017 had nothing to do with what I’ve done and everything to do with how you’ve contributed.
Creating a strong, friendly, and empowering community of #bossbabes has always been my ultimate dream. But it’s far from easy! All of you have so many different awesome fitness, health, and lifestyle influencers to choose from. I am humbled every time you choose me to help guide you to self-love, fitness goals, health, and strength in mind, body, career, and relationships.
I’ve experienced a lot of growth personally and on this blog this past year. But I’m no where near done! I see far too many women still have an “all or nothing” mentality about weight loss, exercise, and/or nutrition that leaves them swinging from one extreme to another.
If you feel like you’ve “failed” time and time again at reaching your fitness goals, it’s time to stop blaming yourself. It’s not you, it’s the plan! The worst part? This feeling of false “failure” can translate into insecurities outside of your health journey. Self-doubt is a sneaky thing. It may have started with a weight loss journey, but have these insecurities also creeped into your career path, relationships, and self-worth?
I am more motivated now than ever to show women my “middle-path,” approach to being fit and feeling good in my skin that minimizes the self-deprecating thoughts associated with rigid “diets” and extreme exercise. It took me a year to get it all down on paper, but I did it! I created the Life in Spandex Sweat and Eat Guides to explain my flexible, exciting, and effective approach to healthy eating and exercise step-by-step. Now each of you can apply these principles to your daily habits to gain your own self-awareness, confidence, and lasting health!
Okay, rant over! Without further ado. Your favorite blog posts of 2017 are… drum roll please :):
