Today I want to share a post from one of my favorite blogging buddies, Dia! Dia is a digital marketing specialist, lifestyle balance blogger, and a basketball, wine and zumba lover from San Antonio, Texas. She is seriously my go-to girl when I need blogging inspiration and advice. She's one of those women who make you go, "How does she get it all done?!" I'm so excited to say she's sharing her secrets on how she fits in workouts to her hectic schedule, even when she doesn't feel motivated! You can find more tips for living a balanced life and rocking you passion on her blog: AllTheThingsIDo.com and on social media Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram. We’ve all heard about how important it is to get moving. All the
I can remember the first time I ever worked out at a commercial gym. The machines looked like space ships, there was grunting, everyone seemed to know exactly what they were doing (and had the biceps to show for it), and I felt like everyone was going to judge me if I did anything wrong (Spoiler alert: most of them don't know what they're doing either! 😉 ). It was easy to fake gym confidence and just hop on the elliptical or treadmill. It's hard to do cardio wrong. Lucky for me, those days were short lived. My boyfriend at the time took a weight lifting class and he really helped me find my gym-groove. He pieced together basic weight-lifting workouts I
Break out those sleeveless tops, ladies - spring is upon us! I love the spring. I feel refreshed, motivated, and inspired. Something about the smell in the air after an April shower, the beautiful colors of bloomed flowers and growing trees, and the mild heat paired with a light breeze gets me into my groove. I feel the most beautiful and feminine when the sun is shining and my clothes are flowy and a little more, well, revealing. Whether you're a halter top kinda gal, ready to rock a sexy strapless ensemble, or in love with a classic tank, having firm arms and sculpted shoulders can make you feel so much more confident. But, who has the time to spend hours in the gym in
*Brooks Running sent me free running gear in exchange for writing this blog post and hosting this give-a-way. However, all opinions and statements are my own. I truly love this brand! Jane did not receive any free gear. I want to start by giving a HUGE congrats to my client Jane! She is competing in the Napa Valley Marathon next weekend with the hope of qualifying for the Boston Marathon! I have no doubt she'll make it. Her dedication to her 14-week prep is inspiring. There were definitely days where she came into the gym exhausted and sore from long-runs and very early mornings (all while juggling her demanding schedule and responsibilities as a high-school teacher). However, she always pushed through.
For the past few months I've been working on something very personal to me. It personifies my personality, conveys the Life in Spandex message, and (I hope!) creates a connection with women everywhere. Jeese, it's hard to put all of those things into a tiny little.... LOGO!!! Yup, Life in Spandex has been officially branded! Life in Spandex isn't just about me or my passion for sharing health and fitness. Ultimately, it's about you and the community you build here! I want my logo to bring cheer, motivation, inspiration, and, of course, a lot of fun to your life. It's a symbol of your dedication to health, fitness, and, most of all, self-love and confidence. When you feel burnt out, it's
