Sometimes I fantasize about having hour-long workouts and other times I just want to get it DONE! I have a feeling most of you can relate to the latter. This total body workout HIIT workout is for those days when you want a little of both - a butt-kicking, empowering workout that only lasts as long as your favorite New Girl episode (with commercials). All you need is a set of dumbbells heavy enough to challenge you on the last 2 to 3 reps of each exercise. That means you can ditch the commute and complete this workout in the comfort of your home. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Complete as many rounds of the exercises back-to-back as possible.
Have you ever had one of those mornings after overdoing it where even your fingernails feel bloated? Yeah, me too. Indulging over a special weekend, like the 4th of July, is totally okay! The time you spent with friends and family is priceless. And I'm sure that third s'more was totally worth it! However, feeling bloated, having indigestion, and being totally lethargic is never fun. I take these feelings with welcoming arms because they remind me why I make daily healthy choices. Sometimes letting lose for a day can actually help re-motivate you. As long as it doesn't become a consistent pattern, one or two days is not going to completely derail your progress. So do this with me, big
If you haven't heard, big booties are being celebrated! I thank this trend for teaching me to appreciate my curves, not try and hide them. However, like any media-driven message, it tells us that one thing is better than the other. Small butt girls are feeling like they need to "grow a booty" now. Though you can definitely increase the size of your rear through the proper exercises and nutrition, some women just won't have Kardashian, Queen B, or even J-Lo booties. I want to take Life in Spandex one step further. I started this blog knowing I wanted to show women everywhere that fitness doesn't have to be an all or nothing. How a certain body type doesn't make you healthy or unhealthy, beautiful or unattractive. That no matter how you look, you can feel
Is it just me or does it seem like no one is really impartial to Valentine's Day. People either seem to love it or hate it. Whether I'm single or in a relationship, I love any excuse to buy/receive flowers and eat chocolate. So count me in as a lover, not a hater! Ever since this blogging thang, I like to use Valentine's Day as an excuse to celebrate loving myself, and to help you do the same! Last year, the Love Your Body Challenge was a huge hit. Thank you to everyone who participated last year. The feedback I got from this seven-day body confidence challenge is still fresh in my mind. You guys make it so easy for
